With an outstanding 8-0 record on the day, the University High School Academic Team was crowned champions of the Brownsburg Dogfight Tournament in December. The varsity squad, comprised of Sycamore grads, senior Jeremy Smart, senior Natalie Fiur, freshman Mikey Cardwell, and freshman Lukas Fiur, averaged 209.4 points per match and defeated teams like Zionsville and Center Grove. Academic team is a national trivia competition with buzzers not unlike Cathedral Olympics, in which Sycamore competes. Questions cover literature, grammar, history, geography, several sciences, pop culture, current events, and math.
