Sycamore School took the two top places at the Indiana Regional Science Bowl Competition on February 7 at Indiana State University in Terre Haute. Sycamore Team B earned first place, while team A finished second in the region.
Each of Sycamore's two teams played five or six matches in the morning during the Round Robin portion of the competition to determine seeding for the afternoon's Double Elimination portion of the competition. Both teams ended the day with a perfect record against other schools with their only losses against the other Sycamore team.
The Regional competition was a National Qualifier and Team B is invited to compete at the National Science Bowl Competition held in Washington D.C. from April 20 - May 4.
Team A: Allison Jeray (Captain), Aarnav Silodia (Acting Captain), Gavin Ceppa, Jonathan Lin, Kacie Yan, and Allison Jeray
Team B: Joseph Zhu (Captain), Alan Shen, Dyer Thompson, Emma Lu, and Albert Jiang.
Both teams were coached by Middle School Science Teacher, David Schuth.
