Sycamore's Quiz Bowl Team competed Championship Tournament during the May 7/8 event sponsored by National Academic Quiz Tournament. At the Chicago competition, Sycamore finished 21st out of 144 schools with a combined record of 7-5 (including playoff rounds).
Team members included Nick Kahi (8th), Deke Kandel (8th), Sameer Zaidi (7th), Sonali Guttikonda (7th), and Steve Hackwelder (7th). Sameer was selected as an All-Star for the tournament, finishing in the top 25 out of more than 600 competitors. This was a designation only given to six 7th graders.
