Computer Technology

EARLY CHILDHOOD

Early Childhood students explore computer use in their classrooms. In Kindergarten, students begin instruction in keyboarding and word processing as well as applications relating to the core curriculum.

LOWER SCHOOL

Students in First through Fourth Grade attend the instructional computer lab twice a week and have access to networked computers in the classrooms. They develop skills in keyboarding, word processing, process writing, and data base. They learn to use technology for research purposes, and to use computers to develop products which are integrated with other areas of study.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Fifth through Eighth Grade students use word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation programs. They produce multimedia presentations, newspapers, and brochures; write simple programs; report data in graphs; create websites; use simulation software; and produce animation. Students use the internet for research purposes and integrate computer use with current classroom projects.
