Sycamore camps have been a tradition since Sycamore School’s founding in 1985.

We are thrilled to provide a variety of exciting and enriching programs for your children. Sycamore camps help children discover new friends, confidence and creativity. We hope your child can join us for our Summer Camp Season May 29 - July 27, 2018.



In 2018, more than 30 different  summer camps are being offered for kids, from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade 
Sycamore is excited that your child is attending camp at the school for gifted students in central Indiana.  All camps are open to all children whether or not they attend Sycamore during the school year.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Enrollment will be limited.  Full payment of fees is required at time of registration.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT DEADLINE: See Below- for June camps/June 8- for July camps
There is a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee. Full refunds (minus the registration fee) can be made for a cancellation prior to May 11 (for June camps) or June 8 (for July camps). A 50% refund for cancellation after the May or June deadlines through the Monday prior to the week of your child’s camp.

Extended Day:
MORNING AND AFTERNOON CARE Extended Care is provided for an additional charge. Lunch care is provided free of charge for those campers that attend a full-day camp or a combination of a morning camp and afternoon camp. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and drink. Snacks will be provided for all camps. Campers will be supervised during an outdoor recess, lunch, and games.
 7:30 – 8:30                             $35 per week
 4:00 – 5:30                             $40 per week
LUNCHTIME (Children provide their own sack lunch) 11:30a – 1:00p / $40 per week (This fee is for campers registered for only morning camp or afternoon camp; If a camper is at a full day camp, or both a morning and an afternoon camp, there is no cost.) 

Sycamore Summer Quest reserves the right to cancel a program if there is insufficient enrollment; a full refund will be made.

Unless we have a written letter to the contrary, Sycamore will assume that any picture taken of campers may be used in the Sycamore Summer Quest brochure or website.

Do you like chess?  Then you will LOVE Bughouse!  This game has the complexity of chess while at the same time being fast paced, fun and team oriented.  Kids will learn teamwork and tactics taught by the locally famous Learning Through Games group.  The fun never ends in Bughouse chess!

Create and grow a magical miniature fairy land!  Develop your creativity and green thumb using our creative materials.  You will learn how to grow a green grass garden in a large flowerpot base.  We will add fun decorated elements like ceramic mushrooms, gnomes, wire butterflies, colorful stones, and, of course, fairies to live in your garden.  Fantasy art projects will also be a part of our week using a variety of mediums-acrylic paint, oil and chalk pastels, colored pencils, watercolors and markers.  Make-believe with us!

This is a camp for kids who love to be active and have fun in the summer.  We will learn and play all sorts of backyard games.  Games we will play include but are not limited to, badminton, pickle ball, spikeball kanjam, shuffleboard, washers, horseshoes, bocce ball, lawn darts and several invasion games.  But we won’t stop there, we we also have some card and board game fun, so that on a rainy day parents will never hear the dreaded words, “I’m bored.”

Whether it’s a twinkling star, a sly fox, a wise owl, a sweetheart or looping letters, we will create some adorable art with colorful string!  We will draw and paint a piece on wood for the background and then create the 3D aspect with string.  You learn different patterns and string art techniques like outlining, scribbling, ombre, zigzag, and more with each project.  Your final project will be your own design and all of your finished pieces will be ready to hang!

Get your ticket to ride at Bricks 4 Kidz very own Amusement Park!  Campers will build new rides each day, learning how to make things spin, roll, turn, and rock.  Then they will take what they have learned to design their own thrills and challenges.
Motorized models maximize the action and the fun.  We will build rides such as a carousel swing, merry-go-round, and tilt-a-whirl.  Camp concludes with the campers creating their very own amusement park complete with midway, ticket booths, concessions, etc.!

Each day, your little one will learn about and build animals that they’ve seen at the zoo: a zebra, an ostrich, a giraffe, an elephant, a camel, and more!  They’ll learn about animal habitats, what the animals eat, any noises they may make, and sing lots of animal songs.
Our preschool camp is designed to create a time of fun and learning for the preschool child using both DUPLO Bricks and Classic LEGO Bricks to create simple, yet exciting structures.  The curriculum introduces developmentally appropriate concepts such as counting and patterning, recognizing colors and shapes, ordering, positional words, fine motor skills and much more.

Take your coding skills to the next level!  This camp will dive deeper into programming by introducing JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.  Fun additional components include electronic invention with littleBits, and an understanding of internet safety.  By the end of this camp, campers will have learned the basics of JavaScript, CSS and HTML coding languages and will have honed their skills by building interactive websites.  Previous exposure to coding basics is required to register for this course.  Utilizing a 1:5 instructor to camper ratio, collaboration skills and confidence building exercises will be integrated into this camp.

Habitat, hiking, history, flora, fauna, and fun!  On our outdoor journeys we’ll learn Indiana history, hike trails winding through forests, explore interpretive centers, and roast our traditional s’mores.  Each day will bring a new outdoor experience at nature centers such as Shakamak State Park and Turkey Run State Park.  And what’s camp without crafts, games, food, songs and maybe swimming?

Let’s get utterly adorable with kawaii-style art, the culture of cuteness in Japan!  We will draw artwork depicting mini food treats using bright colors and materials such as paint, oil and chalk pastels, colored pencils6 watercolors and markers.  Then we will create plushie characters based on these pieces using simple sewing, stuffing, embroidery floss and more to make adorable faces and add details!

Are you ready to start 5th grade? Are you worried about keeping track of your assignments and staying organized while switching classrooms all day? Maybe you are just a little worried about finding your classrooms. This camp is all about getting ready for a smooth transition to middle school.  During this 3-Day camp you will: 
1. Practice your keyboarding skills
2. Improve organization and time-management skills
3. Establish your locker layout so you can find stuff faster
4. Develop a daily routine for getting to class on time
5. Learn about executive skills and how they impact performance
6. Find out how to use self-management and improve your success
