WHEN: Saturday, February 25, 2017 / 6pm – midnight
WHERE: 502 East Event Centre - 502 E. Carmel Dr., Carmel, Indiana
WHY: To support Sycamore School, Indiana’s only Preschool – 8th grade private, independent school for gifted students
FOOD AND DRINK: Classic Southern dinner buffet, mint juleps, and open bar
ACTIVITIES: Silent auction, live auction, fund-an-item, and raffle
AFTER PARTY: Stay for cornhole, games, music, and prizes

WHY SUPPORT A SYCAMORE SCHOOL EDUCATION?

  • As an independent school, Sycamore School receives no government funding.
  • 16% of our students receive Financial Assistance. 
  • 9% of the annual cost of a student’s education must be paid by non-tuition contributions.
  • Sycamore School does not operate with an endowment.
GIFTED FACULTY
  • Teachers are recruited and trained with a focus on gifted education and differentiated instruction.
  • 100% of lead teachers are certified/eligible for High Ability Licensure
  • Current faculty includes winners of state and regional teaching awards.
GIFTED PEERS provide camaraderie and challenge to ensure an energetic and stimulating learning environment. 

OUR INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is developed to be fully integrated, starting from the preschool level, and utilize the most internationally proven methods of education, all delivered at an accelerated pace.
 
STEM EDUCATION COMBINED WITH AWARD WINNING ARTS PROGRAMS gives our students the opportunity to dive deeply into the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics while benefiting from the brain stimulating power of music and the arts. 
  •   Award winners of regional, state, and national MathCounts, National Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, State      Spanish Competition, ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Performances.
  •   Hosts 400 middle school girls at annual Girls STEM Conference.
DIVERSITY of our student body is vital preparing our students for a globally integrated future. Currently, 39% of Sycamore students are students of color.
 
EMBRACING LOCAL & GLOBAL COMMUNITY is critical as we prepare our students to use their gifts to make a positive impact on their world.
  •   Creation of a Little Free Library and ongoing support for the Glick Center Food Bank.
  •   School wide study of the global water crisis, culminating in the funding and drilling of a well for a school in Zimbabwe.
SMALL CLASS SIZE supports differentiated instruction.
  • Preschool – 5:1 student to faculty ratio. 
  • PreK – 6:1 student to faculty ratio.
  • K to 8 – 10:1 student to faculty ratio.

DID YOU KNOW?
The auction is the only event where almost 300 sycamore parents, parents of alumni, board members, grandparents, artists, sponsors, guests and alumni and nearly 90 teachers and staff have the opportunity to get together under one roof and socialize.

The Sycamore Auction is the Sycamore School Association’s major fundraiser this year. The money raised at the auction supports academics, professional development, extracurricular activities, and facility improvements.
