We had 174 students on the Sycamore lunch meal plan this fall, and INCREASE OF 45% from the end of last school year.

If you signed up for first semester only, you can sign up for second semester and receive the full year discount.

Each Sycamore student gets one free OOPS lunch (when they forget their lunch from home).

FLIK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DINING
We are excited to share some of the ways we will continue to focus on Menus of Change, which means increasing fruits and vegetables, more whole grains, less red meat, and nutrient dense meals.

From August through May, our Healthy Foods Matter program will be featuring whole grains. #FlikGrains entrees will start with whole grains, add vegetables or beans/peas; toss on some protein, and top with a splash of sauce. These grain bowls recipes are as varied as they are delicious.

Our Revved Up recipe series continues to enhance recipes by adding nutritious ingredients or making appropriate, nutritious substitutions this school year. The goal is that familiar recipes taste and look as they normally would but have an improved nutritional profile. The new recipes in the series include alfredo sauce, risotto, taco, and veggie burger.

Did You Know...?

We prepare our foods from whole fresh ingredients, limiting the use of processed foods and avoiding products containing artificial colors, flavorings, M.S.G., preservatives, and high levels of sodium.

We feature organic, local and Fair Trade fruits and vegetables as availability & pricing allows.

We serve rBGH and Antibiotic Free Milk. The milk is produced at farms that do not inject cows with the growth hormone rBGH (recom-inant bovine growth hormone).

In our effort to become more socially responsible we have moved to using only biodegradable paper products.

Our eggs are always from cage-free hens.

We use cleaning compounds which are much less toxic to the environment than conventional chemicals, and contain less packaging.
