As of graduation 2022, Sycamore has more than 1,100 alumni. They often remark that they are grateful for the bonds they made here with their classmates, teammates, and teachers that continue to bring such richness to their lives. It is a reminder that the “Sycamore family” is not just something that the community talks about but is a real source of friendship, connection, and support that has the power to remain with them long after graduation. It is appropriate that the title of the school alma mater is "Our Great Sycamore."

We look forward to hearing about your adventures, your ambitions, and your accomplishments. If you have any stories that you would like to share, recent or old, or any pictures from getting together with members of our great Sycamore family, please send them to Mary O'Malley, Alumni Coordinator,  omalley.mary@sycamoreschool.org.

It is always a good time to visit us. We would really enjoy seeing you again.

AFTER SYCAMORE...

A number of our graduates have won the prestigious Kelley and Wells Scholarships at Indiana University. In addition to academic achievements, Sycamore graduates have starred in dramatic performances, performed in outstanding choral and instrumental groups, and played key roles in state championship athletic teams and marching bands. They have also been recognized for holding positions of leadership and performing service to their communities. In every area, Sycamore graduates stand out as well-prepared, successful young adults.

High schools recruit Sycamore students because they have a record of becoming a strong asset to their schools. Sycamore graduates score extremely well on Advanced Placement exams and frequently become National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists and Finalists.

Sycamore graduates have attended medical schools, law schools, business schools, and graduate Ph.D. programs. They have served in the Peace Corps, taught English in China, Bulgaria, and Hong Kong, and mastered Arabic, Mandarin, and Japanese. Our alumni have served on medical mission teams in Africa and South America.

Expertise in math, science, and technology has led our graduates into careers as physicians, computer programmers, microbiologists, mathematics professors, patent lawyers, chemists, and aeronautical engineers. Interests in history, government, and business have led to careers in the FBI, law, investments, and dot.com companies. Sycamore graduates with creative impulses are pursuing careers as professional artists, musicians, actors, graphic designers, and dancers.

"The thing that makes this place feel like it does is the people. Everyone has a little extra kindness, a little extra perseverance, a little extra something. When I arrived here in seventh grade, I was immediately surrounded by people who wanted to learn, who wanted to grow into better people, and ultimately, people who just wanted to be friends. I didn’t have to seek out new people to hang out with; they sought me out. Sycamore is like a family."
(Hanna, Class of 2020)
"The teachers and faculty have modeled kindness and inclusiveness, and these are traits I use in high school and hope to use my whole life. I now feel prepared to take on the world."
(Meera, Class of 2019)

WHAT OUR YOUNG ALUMNI SAY ABOUT SYCAMORE

"I think Sycamore prepared me very well for the rigorous courses (IB and AP) that I took throughout high school. Sycamore also instilled a love of learning, which I still hold today."
(Laura, Class of 2017)

"One of the greatest things Sycamore taught me was time management skills. Not only was I taught how to complete my homework in a timely manner but I was allowed to pursue professional musical theatre outside of school, which played a high role in helping me develop and better my time management skills. These skills have been so important in high school not only to manage my course load but also so I have time to devote to extracurriculars and social activities."
(Mary Kate, Class of 2018)

"Sycamore has provided me with a tremendous advantage over others at high school. In AP classes, I am able to thrive and score highly because Sycamore has prepared me for the classes. I am so proud to come from such a great school."
(Ava, Class of 2019)

"Sycamore has given me an infinite quest for knowledge, the ability to ask for help, and, most importantly, lifelong friendships."
(Nate, Class of 2021)
