State University High Ability License & Course Offerings
Includes a 4 course sequence:
EDPSY 520: Introduction to the Gifted and Talented Student,
Required (no prerequisite)
EDPSY 621: Identification and Evaluation of Gifted Students,
Required; EDPSY 520 is prerequisite
EDPSY 625: Models and Strategies, Required, and EDPSY 520 is
Prerequisite
Either:
EDPSY 611: Development of Creative Thinking (no
prerequisite) OR
EDPSY 623: Investigating the Social and Emotional Needs of
Gifted Students (no prerequisite)

Register EARLY
Students must be admitted to the Graduate School before they can
register for courses. Find this information at:

All courses are offered online during every academic year and the
License can be obtained in one year if desired. The courses are also
offered in hybrid format where students complete half of the
instruction face-to-face; the remaining hours are completed through
on-line activities and discussions. Students meet 8 evenings per
semester at the Fishers Ball State Outreach Site. Classes in this
format are designed so students may take 2 courses Fall and 2
courses Spring, completing the License in one year if desired.
