Eileen Prince
Welcome
to my website. My name is Eileen Prince, and I teach art in grades
1-8. I have been the elementary and middle school art teacher at
Sycamore since it was founded in 1985, and I have taught art to
children and adults for over 30 years. I majored in studio art
at Smith College for Women in Northampton, MA until my marriage,
and then I transferred to Butler University and Herron School of
Art, changing my major to art education. I received my Bs.Ed. cum
laude in 1970 and an MAE with academic distinction in 1982 from
Herron and Indiana University. My husband and I helped found the
Hasten Hebrew Academy here in Indianapolis, and I served as its
first art teacher.
Although I
still do an occasional portrait or commissioned work, I had my last one-woman
show in 1987. Since then, I have focused predominantly on teaching and writing
curriculum. My book, which came out in November of 2001, incorporates a
great deal of the curriculum I have developed over the years. To see more
about my
program, go to the Sycamore
School Art Department
