Welcome to a glimpse of
Sycamore
School! As you
explore our website, I hope you see that Sycamore is a unique and
exciting place set on a beautiful campus, and I hope that you will
come visit us in person. From preschool through grade eight,
you will see inquisitive, joyful, eager, and confident learners in a
superb educational environment.
At Sycamore School,
we understand that gifted children need a special education, and our
mission reflects our focus and drive: "Sycamore School exists so that academically gifted
students can experience the enriched, accelerated education they
need to reach their potential and to lead responsible, constructive,
fulfilling lives." There are few schools in the country with
such a clear focus and unique commitment to providing an appropriate
education for gifted learners.
Our dedicated faculty members are specifically trained and
experienced in the education of gifted children. They
understand not only the intellectual needs, but also the special
social and emotional needs of these children. Our faculty and
administrative staff write and develop our curriculum in order to
incorporate the most current research and best practices in
education for gifted learners. The program we've built is
broad and deep, and it allows students to soar.
At Sycamore, gifted learners find a home. It is important
for our brightest students to have an intellectual peer group, and
at Sycamore they find that. The atmosphere is electrifying as
the sparks fly among the active minds of our students. We work
hard, and we play hard, and the positive energy is palpable from the
moment you enter the school.
